Back to reality after 7 days of Cancun (Mexico) !!
From Oct 17-24 Ilse & I journeyed to an exclusive resort, just south of Cancun.
Thanks to the Mexican Flu frenzy, prices for this kind of resort (6 stars All Inclusive !!) were fitting our - compared to American standards- modest budget...
This Resort dates from 2008 and is one of a kind in that way that it is built in a design - minimal art - kinda way...
The first two days were pregnant with rain and wind, but the last 5 days made up for it with sunshine.
Since the resort had 08 restaurants, with real restaurant-like waiters, serving Japanese,Italian, French, Mexican... cuisine.
Hence, this week is diet-week... again...
Besides eating and drinking for free ( :-) ) and getting a tan (either in the hot-tub or next to the pool under the watchful Mexican eye...ahum..),
The true NFL-fanatic could talk about his favorite team @ the Sports-bar...
But nothing beats the mesmerizing noise of the waves splashing onto the beach...

After a wonderful sunny stay, we landed back into reality and into the rain on saturday 24 Oct. Luckily, apparently the rest of this week will be filled with dry and sunny, indian summer colours... A nice opener for the upcoming Halloween-weekend, for which we applied some decorations to our house...

U2 & Baseball
Two short messages:
1. 29 Sep 09 - U2 concert @ FedExField (Landover, MD)
On Sep 29, I went, with Patrick Stevens (a Belgian friend of ours) to a U2-concert at the Redskins-stadium, located about a mile from my workplace.
They performed with their, already famous Claw, a technological wonder that allows the crowd to see the show in 360 degrees.
It was a great show in a great stadium. They played their newest singles along with their golden oldies...
Not only the music was great, but so were our seats... not too far from the podium. As we were in the Redskins-stadium, I thought it would be cool to show that I'm a fan... apparently, I was not the only one. As you can see, our seats were really great ;-)
2. 03 Oct 09 - Baseball-game : Baltimore Orioles vs Toronto Bluejays
Friends of ours (Tim and Stacy) insisted on going to a baseball-game once... Ilse and I were rolling eyes, because we had always heard that baseball is a really dull game... But I have to admit that we had a great, relaxing time.
Off course, everything started with the National Anthem :
Thanks Tim, thanks Stacy !!
